[note: newt is a xenobiologist who has six phds and five years of alien/monster-studying experience. i'm not! and i don't want to make a bunch of headcanon decisions about the monsters of hadriel! so oocly i'm just gonna list the monsters newt has studied and include whatever findings i can back up with the bestiary or the wiki pages, but icly his notes would be more involved. feel free to assume he's discovered other stuff about the monsters if you want your character to have that knowledge!
if the monsters have an entry in the official hadriel bestiary, i'll link that. if not, i'll link the intro log it's from. aaand there will be ic and ooc monster names where applicable, since newt wouldn't icly know the names for some things. i'm letting him just correctly guess the obvious ones to minimize confusion.
i'll be updating the bestiary about once a month around intro log day, but it takes time for newt to finish his research. so updating the bestiary in february means that i'll be adding the monsters from january, and february's monsters will debut in the march update, etc.
also newt's an asshole and won't give them credit, but his lab/monster ranch helpers are michael munroe, george lass, cashmere, semiyon, and hayden. he's also had a lot of help cataloguing the tundra wildlife from nick valentine, tinya, glacius, and pratt.]
