week 3 - bellamy - saturday post-trial

[Newt desperately needed a break from people after the trial. The beach is quiet enough--he's tempted to go further, maybe check out the cave or the jungle because who cares? He's going to die anyway.

But he has people he wants to say goodbye to first. Not now, but... in a little bit, after he's collected his thoughts. For now, he's just standing on the beach, looking out at the water.]

[Bellamy spends a long, long time alone, too. By the time he gets back to the beach, all of his emotions have boiled off into exhaustion, and he almost doesn't approach Newt. It's not like they're particularly close, and he doubts Newt is in the mood to talk to anyone other than his friends right now. For some reason, he can't quite bring himself to leave, either, so he crosses the sand quietly.]

[Newt squints at Bellamy for a moment as he approaches. Of all the people who have come to talk to him tonight, this one is by far the most surprising. Did Raven send him? Hm.]

Yeah, me too. [...He shouldn't ask because he's suspicious of the answer and doesn't have the energy to be angry right now, but.] Who did you vote for?

[He didn't stick around long enough to check the votes after the trial.]

I asked Lief if I could vote for him. I didn't buy any of the theories that were being tossed out. I don't know how anyone was stupid enough to vote for any of the Jacks after what Hal said.

Right. [Throwing away a vote like that is pretty stupid, but at least Bellamy knew better than to vote for any of the Jacks. Newt doesn't have the energy to tell him why voting for Lief was stupid, and that would likely just result in an argument, anyway. Not... not tonight.]

Thanks for trying to mitigate that. I knew some of them would be stupid enough, but I didn't think it'd be the majority. I bet it would've been more if Laura hadn't pulled that crap in the end, too.

[He shakes his head. He'll have to check out who all voted for a Jack later, just so he knows who to be angry with as he marches to his death. Then again, maybe he doesn't want to know. What if some of the votes were made by his friends?]
