week 2 - jack - thursday night

[Tonight has been weird to say the least, and it doesn't help that they've got another murder to look forward to in the morning. Someone's going to die tonight, and then three more people are probably going to die on Sunday. Newt and Jack could be among them. Newt would like to avoid that.

Speaking of Jack, the two of them are locked in for the night. This setup felt safer last week, before they knew the huts were free game. Now all the anxiety Newt has been avoiding all week has caught up with him. He doubts he's going to get any sleep tonight, which is maybe for the best.]

What're we gonna do if someone tries to get in here?

[He's a lonely guy! And he's hearing just what he likes...okay, so maybe there's a faint sound of screaming behind it, but still.]

Ha! Okay, so your lab partner's no bueno, got it! But yeah, yeah, I get ya. That's pretty much where I fall on the old spectrum. Women are just...they're so awesome. They're just so, so awesome. Everything about'em. But there's some dudes that yeah, just do it for me.

He's not my lab partner. He just works in the same lab as me. He doesn't even do real science, just spends all day doodling numbers on a chalkboard.

[Okay, that's not giving Hermann nearly enough credit, but continuing to bag on the guy makes him feel more normal after all this traumatic stuff that's been happening to him lately, both on the island and off.]

Yeah... [He's still not sure where Jack is going with this. It's a decent distraction, at least.] You pining after someone here, or something?
