[It can't have been more than a week by Prussia's estimation before she's itching to try out this whole world-hopping nonsense. Look, she got to spend time with West, and Austria's there, but also she has nothing to do all day and she gets bored easily. Not having an actual nation of her own to take care of means she has a lot of spare time on her hands!
Wherever Newt is, suddenly, Prussia is there. It's not a cool entrance, though, because she didn't know how it would work and so leapt high into the air as if she needed more momentum to physically make a leap across space and time.
So when she appears, she's literally slamming face-first into the deck with a muffled curse.]
[The adjustment back to real life has been surreal as hell, especially considering the adjustment to post-Kaiju War was already going to be surreal, so this is, like, double surreal. He's just... neglected to mention the whole murder island thing to anyone. No one would believe him, anyway.
It's late, and he's been holed up in his lab literally all day except for the brief hour or so where Hermann dragged him out to get dinner. Newt went just to stop the nagging. Hermann's long gone now, but Newt's still here, apathetically labeling jars of Kaiju specimens due to be shipped off to museums or other labs or whatever. So begins the slow process of shutting down his lab. Great.
When Prussia swan dives into his desk, go figure, it catches him off guard. He drops the jar he's working on and it shatters, scattering glass and ammonia and a sample of Kaiju lung tissue across the floor. He's briefly pissed because, dammit, that was a good sample, but! It's Prussia!
He hurries over to, uh, help her up?? Sort of. He helps to right her just enough so that he can throws his arms around her in a big hug. He's glad to see her, as always, but he's also glad that she's proof that that crappy island wasn't just some messed up dream. Or, well, it was, but it was also real. Even with the plushie souvenirs, he was starting to doubt himself.]
Took you long enough. [He says, also having world-hopping powers but having been too freaked out about using them until now. And also busy with post-end-of-the-world things. Oof.]
[This is not the cool entrance she'd planned!! She was supposed to swoop in and surprise him, really surprise him with how cool she is. Instead here she is with a little bit of blood trailing from her nose from its contact with the floor, stunned and disoriented from the impact.
Something smells like ammonia?? SHe's even more confused as she's helped up, head still spinning from the dizziness of being in one world one second, and another an instant later.
But then she realizes who's helping her up, and she wraps her arms around him in a hug just as tight with a shriek of delight. And then she's just going to. Lift him right into the air with that hug, because she's back to being almost as strong as Germany and it's easy for her to lift one dude into the air. It worked!! It worked it worked it worked!!]
You know how it is when you're awesome!! Gettin' time away from the people who worship the ground you walk on is hard work!!
[She even spins a little in place before setting him back down. Ammonia smells really bad wtf dude.]
[OKAY HE'S IN THE AIR NOW HELLO AAA. Holy crap she is strong?? He stumbles a little as she drops him.]
I did, actually. It's, uh, kind of weird. Being back. [She probably understands, right? Maybe not. Her and Austria came to the island together, after all. Now that everyone's safe, a part of him wishes Hermann had shown up there, too. They're just bridged the gap between them with that Drift before he got swept up in that murder game. Sort of. As much as you can bridge that kind of a gap in one day, anyway. Now, after everything, Newt feels more alone than ever.]
How was the trip? Does that worldhopping thing come with the crash landing or is that a Prussian original?
[She hums quietly in agreement, draping her arms over his shoulders. It was weird, being back. Waking up, making sure Austria remembered everything, that it wasn't just some shitty dream. Germany would never believe it if she tried to tell her, and it was too much to explain, so she'd just brushed it off. Hell, until she'd actually tried to hop worlds, she was starting to wonder if it really had been true.
But she doesn't let it subdue her for long. She hugs him again, squeezing him tightly. And then pinches his side without letting go. Don't be rude!!]
Don't be jealous of my awesome landing! I meant to do that, you know!!
Kesese... you'll be okay! Just don't try to jump in and make a cool entrance or anything.
[She's quiet, then, content to just hold him for a few long seconds. She made it. She's here, and Newt's here, back where he belongs. And he's okay.
A little compulsively, she leans back and pokes the middle of his forehead, trying to get him to pick his head up just so she can check. Just so she can make sure that there really are no marks from when she shot him.]
[He tilts his head back when she pokes at him, not sure why she's doing that but also it doesn't cross his mind to question it. There's no scar or anything, though. That'd be an awkward thing to try to explain.]
Yeah! Uh... Just gimme a sec. [He wriggles out of her grip so that he can go clean up the specimen jar he broke. Whoops. It is indeed pretty stinky, but it's not like his lab smells great in the first place, anyway. There's a definitive funk of preservatives and toxic Kaiju blood hanging in the air. Yum.]
Oh, that's the brain I Drifted with. [Slipping on a plastic glove, he points at the segment of Mutavore's frontal lobe still floating in its huge vat. It's dead now, but it's still a useful specimen.]
[She's so relieved that at least outwardly, he looks fine. She can't speak for what's going on inside that head of his, but at least he isn't physically injured.
While he's cleaning up whatever that rank stuff is, she clasps her hands behind her back and starts wandering around to look at everything, humming to herself. It really is cool!! Like a set on one of America's movies!!]
The brain you what with? Speak plainly, I'm not the doctor!!
[She leans in and gives the chunk of what's apparently brain a squinting stare. Did... did Newt jump in the tank? Is that what he's saying?]
hey there

Hey, I know. Just asking if I need to brace for impact when I give it a shot. I'm not as indestructible as you.
[No one is.]
