week 3 - lief - friday post-investigation

[Newt isn't really sure what to do with himself after this investigation. Two bodies this time means... Six by Sunday. Damn. He's selfishly feeling a bit lucky that he's not very close to any of the four victims, but there's a definite dark cloud hanging over the island tonight.

He's been making the rounds checking up on his friends here and there, and he's heading down the beach on his way back to the huts when he sees Lief.]

[Lief is a level-headed dude and Newt has some stuff to pick his brain about, but... Wellness checks, first. Look buddy Newt is learning manners!!]

Good. I'm glad you and Prussia are both okay. That's the scariest part of all this, y'know? Waking up on Friday and, like, not knowing...

[He shakes his head. Anyway.]

I wanted to talk to you about the trial tomorrow, actually. We can't keep doing what we've been doing, going in blind and just hoping we stumble on something useful... [Which is maybe not what's literally been happening, but that's sure what it feels like to Newt.] We need a better plan.

Prussia stayed with you and Jack, correct? Thank you for being with her.

[Not that it would've prevented a murder if she'd been chosen, most likely, but he's grateful that they kept her company. She probably needs it, all things considered.]

Yeah. We figured sticking together on Thursdays is the way to go. More than just in partners, I mean. For the alibis.

[He knows it likely won't prevent any of them from dying too, but it's nice to hope.]

I was afraid you'd say that. Honestly, I don't either. I don't know how we're supposed to solve murders on a deserted island with next to no evidence. No useful evidence, anyway. At this rate, we're just going to have to randomly choose someone to vote for and hope we happen to pick the right person.
