week 2 - prussia & austria - thursday night
[It's Thursday. Someone's going to die tonight. It's getting late, and the last thing Newt wants to do is miss curfew, but he has some time yet. He's trying to not think about the whole impending death thing. Maybe it won't happen. It probably will, but maybe.
For now, he's sitting on the beach, watching the last rays of sunlight disappear into the horizon. He wishes he had his mp3 player, but it's been out of batteries for a few days now. It sucks, but he's still holding out hope that he'll be able to convince Pal to hook him up with some batteries after this week's trial.
In lieu of something better to do with his hands, he's tracing goofy doodles of Kaiju in the sand. This island is kind of boring, honestly.]

[She points the parasol warningly at Austria before looking to Newt and shaking her head.]
No way. There's nobody on this whole island who looks like her. She's tall and really muscular, short blonde hair, bright blue eyes... and she's really cute! Super cute!! The cutest, coolest little sister anyone could want!!
I'm sure I saw her...

I'm not fussing-- and it's your fault even if I was!!

Germany is... rather distinctive. [In that yes, she's so cute. So very cute. And so strong! So wonderfully loud.] You wouldn't be able to mistake her for another person here.

[Beyond that, though, he's not really sure what to do here.]
Hm. That's weird. Maybe your eyes are just playing tricks on you.
[It'd make enough sense, unfortunately. They've been stuck here for almost two weeks, and that's bound to fray some nerves eventually. He glances out over the water, watching the dark waves roll in over the sand. It's a bit choppier than its been before, isn't it? Weird. The sky looks clear.]

[She stamps a foot against the sand and slaps the parasol into her opposite hand. This truly was the worst thing Austria could have given her. She's going to have so much fun using it for everything but blocking out the sun.
She looks frustrated and disappointed. She's absolutely certain she'd seen her sister...]
See anything in the water, kid?

[He doesn't sound convinced, though. There's something strange about the way the water's moving, and the way the reflections look... Almost like something under it is glowing. He scratches at his arm, uncomfortable.]
Maybe. Does the ocean look weird to you two?

[Prussia twirls the parasol in one hand and moves up next to him, planting a hand on his shoulder to propel herself up a little higher. Maybe that'll help give her a better view?]
Sunset over the water's kinda pretty, I guess. Nothing like Hamburg, but it's got it's own cool look.

Like always.

[What he's seeing under the water is blue, and it's moving. He thought it was just an optical illusion with how the waves are coming in, but no, it's moving against the current, kind of swaying side to side like it's reaching for something but can't quite find it. It's hypnotic, and familiar in a way.
It stops abruptly, and the water stills, but just for a moment. Suddenly, the glowing thing bursts up out of the waves with a terrible screech that echoes over the island. It's a Kaiju. Otachi. The one that came to Earth specifically to hunt down Newt and kill him. She barrels toward the shore, sending up sprays of seawater all around her, her mouth a bright blue as her jaws spread to howl at him again.
Newt yelps and stumbles backward. He grabs for Prussia, both trying to right himself and to get her to run too, but he goes down, landing on his ass in the sand. Otachi is too fast, anyway. They can't outrun a Kaiju. Maybe if Otachi gets him, it'll leave Prussia and Austria alone, at least.
But then, she's gone. The water is calm, and by the look of it, it's always been calm. There's no Kaiju here.
...What? He just sits in the sand, heart pounding, trying to figure out what the hell just happened.]
