week 1 - laphicet - saturday post-trial
[God, that trial was awful. They have to do this every week? They technically chose correctly, but like, winning feels like utter garbage. This isn't a victory, not really.
Newt is taking a few minutes to get some fresh air (thank god) before heading back to his own hut when he spots Laphicet milling around near the bonfire. Oh, good. He's not exactly in the mood to chat anyone up right now, but he was worried about this little dude. He has a minute to check in, at least. He heads over.]
Hey, man. How, um... How're you doing?

He looks up at Newt's greeting and gives him a faint smile.]
I'm okay. I'm more worried about everyone else, honestly. Are you alright?

I'm as okay as anyone could be under these circumstances. I never had a chance to talk to Haru or Yato. [In other words, he's not emotionally invested beyond it generally sucking that people are dying. Could be worse.]
I don't know how we're supposed to keep this up for two months.

[Some things just don't work out. Especially on Murder Island]
How long it takes... depends on everyone here, right? And since I don't know everyone very well, I don't know what they'll do.

[He sits down next to Laphicet.] Being here for less than two months sounds like it's contingent on... Well, killing faster. Then again, I'm not sure. I suppose if we suss out the killers--assuming the Chiefs don't pull this kind of crap again--that's the only way to really end this ahead of schedule. Problem is, doing that will be difficult.
