week 1 - hiro - friday post-investigation

[Hiro has been at the top of Newt's post-investigation check-in list since he disappeared after the whole "head on a spike" thing. Newt's glad his buddy vanished because that means he probably didn't spend much time examining a mutilated corpse, so that's cool, but... now Newt can't find him. He's checked the huts, the beach, even the jungle paths, and no dice. Where is he?

So, it's later in the day when Newt shows up at the cavern. In retrospect, he should've come here earlier. It's Newt's favorite spot on the island, and it's a bit out of the way from the general chaos of the hut area.

He peeks into the mouth of the cave.]

Hey, Hiro? You in here, dude?

[He's not too far into the cavern, crouched down in the dirt and carefully combing through the area where they found the crossed fingers. Hearing Newt, however, he looks up and waves with his free hand.]
