[Newt spends a good chunk of his post-trial walk actively looking for Hermann, but apparently he's not that keen on being found. Good, great. It takes Newt a while to track him down.

When he finally does, his partner is brooding in a coffee shop. Figures. He heads over with zero respect for Hermann's personal time, as per usual, and plops down in the seat across from him.]

No. I'm trying to figure out where your head's at since I'm betting you didn't vote for Terra or Noctis.

I did not. Because I thought our evidence was too weak to be conclusive. I still do.

[How is he managing to look smug when he was technically wrong?]

We got lucky.

No, we didn't. That wasn't just luck. There's no way we guessed right out of forty-some people just based on luck. The odds of that happening would be ridiculous.

[Wow okay that was maybe snappier than he intended. Sore spot, oops.]

Fine, it wasn't a complete guess, but it wasn't a sure thing, either. And I don't feel comfortable throwing all of our lots in with something so... unproven. It worked this time, but what about the next?
