week 0 - mutsu - saturday post-trial
[So, how 'bout that trial, huh? Having to solve a murder and sentence someone to death was tense enough, but then that whole blowout happened at the end... Newt stands by his overarching points, but. Well.
He goes to track down Mutsu not long after they're all allowed to leave McDonald's.]
Hey, man. Things, uh, got pretty heated back there. [Newt scratches the back of his head. He's bad at this.] You doing alright?

He hates having to accept that this is just the way things have to play out. And now this guy comes up and wants to do what? Talk? About...? )
I'm just fine. ( Perfectly fine. ) Everything's okay, can't ya see?
( Super sarcastic. )

I'm kind of fed up with trying to solve puzzles and stuff for the night, okay? If you want me to beat it, just say so, but I thought I'd check up on you since you stormed off and all.
[He sighs. The trial's over, but he's still a little highstrung. Take it down a notch, Newton.]
Look, none of this is easy, but you know we can't save everyone, right? It sucks, but that's just how it is.

I don't get it. A bunch of people in one place and we can figure out the murder but we can't figure out a way to save an innocent person... Still feels like Dahlia won.

For what it's worth, we did figure out a way to save an innocent. Anthy just didn't want to take it, and honestly? We're lucky she didn't. Two more innocent people would've died because we would've had to kill Dahlia to save Anthy. But, uh, maybe that'll help us out in the weeks to come, y'know? Knowing about how the pacts work.
