[It's later in the evening when Newt doubles back to check on Katara. He's made his rounds and had some time to calm himself down... Here's hoping she has, too. He knocks on the door of her hut.]

week 1 - hiro - friday post-investigation

[Hiro has been at the top of Newt's post-investigation check-in list since he disappeared after the whole "head on a spike" thing. Newt's glad his buddy vanished because that means he probably didn't spend much time examining a mutilated corpse, so that's cool, but... now Newt can't find him. He's checked the huts, the beach, even the jungle paths, and no dice. Where is he?

So, it's later in the day when Newt shows up at the cavern. In retrospect, he should've come here earlier. It's Newt's favorite spot on the island, and it's a bit out of the way from the general chaos of the hut area.

He peeks into the mouth of the cave.]

Hey, Hiro? You in here, dude?

week 1 - mello - friday post-investigation

[Newt is definitely the best person for operation: damage control, so he's been flitting around checking in with some of the more fiery types to make sure no one goes and gets themselves killed... or worse, makes things even crappier for the rest of the islanders.

He's heading down the beach to continue in his altruistic quest when he spots Mello, who is Captain Stare Quietly, apparently. He rolls his eyes.]

Dude, if you're one of the lucky few able to keep your cool in a situation like this, the least you could do is pass on that wisdom to others. What are you doing?

week 1 - lief - friday post-investigation

[God, what a disaster Newt has been running around checking in with various folks since the whole... head on a spike... thing... and he figures he should track down Lief to touch base. The guy seems pretty level-headed. Time to more officially form a crowd control coalition.

The last thing this island needs is a mutiny, even if Hal and Pal unequivocally suck.

He eventually spots Lief hanging out on the beach, so Newt jogs up to get his attention.]
